He teaches at the undergraduate, graduate, executive MBA, and doctoral programs. He is also a Graduate and PhD thesis supervisor.
Ciabuschi received his PhD in International Business from Uppsala University. He has been visiting scholar at several universities and institutions, among which INSEAD (France), Bologna University (Italy), Cattolica University of Milan (Italy) and Stanford University (USA).
Ciabuschi has published in many international journals and in a number of books/ anthologies. His research interests concern international management, strategic management, business models, innovation management, state-owned multinational corporations, knowledge development and transfer in multinational corporations, HQs roles, subsidiary development, new business formation. He is particularly interested in the pharmaceutics and paper industries.

He has been deputy head of department and director of research for the department, coordinator of the PhD Program NORD-IB (Nordic Research School of International Business), and member of Cost Action IS0905 "The Emergence of Southern Multinationals and their Impact on Europe".
